A sustainable society

Sustainability is a top priority at BREN. In addition to providing a delectable experience for our visitors, we also aim to give back to the community. As far as we can, we attempt to work with ethical, organic, and sustainable suppliers.

Our GFT waste and coffee grounds are collected and used to grow oyster mushrooms, which are then used to make the oyster mushroom bitterballs that we serve.

We serve soft drinks made with syrups from De Roze Bunker, their syrup are made from fruit and herbs that would typically end up in containers because they don’t look appealing enough for the store.

Our coffee biscuits come from the Koekfabriek, these biscuits are baked by hand by very special bakers, people distanced from the labour market.

We donate a fixed amount on the sale of every bottle of water to Made Blue: an organisation that provides clean drinking water in developing countries.

In the future, we obviously want to do many more such collaborations.
